Louisiana is keeping an eye on the tropics

(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) – The Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives is monitoring the tropics and Hurricane Beryl. While Louisiana is not on Beryl’s current projected path, this could change overnight. Now is the time to get prepared. Stock up on non-perishable food, water, medications, and batteries. Discuss potential evacuation plans with your family and be ready to implement them if necessary.

Our Louisiana electric cooperatives are well-prepared and ready to work. Safety is our priority; our lineworkers will begin work when it is safe.

“In recent years, trees in our service territory have been affected by droughts, hurricanes, and now the pine beetle invasion, warned Addie Armato, ALEC CEO. “These factors have weakened our trees and could significantly impact our power grid, potentially causing longer outages and restoration times.” Preparation is crucial, and we urge everyone to stay informed.
