ALEC elects officers and appoints new directors

During the ALEC Annual Meeting, the ALEC board of directors elected the following slate of officers for 2022-2023: President Dennis Glass (WSTE), Vice President Mike Heinen (JDEC), and Secretary/Treasurer Roger Dale DeHart (SLECA).
Also reappointed by their respective cooperatives to serve 3-year terms as ALEC Directors are Joe Jarrell (WSTE), Danny Berthelot (DEMCO), and Brian Rivet (SLECA). Newly appointed Byron Hardee will represent JDEC.
Mr. Dennis Glass has served on the ALEC board for six years and held many titles, including secretary/treasurer and vice president. “We are honored to have Dennis Glass be the first board member representing WSTE to serve as president of ALEC,” says WSTE President Joe Jarrell. This appointment is a historic milestone for WSTE.
Following the ALEC Annual Meeting, Brian Rivet unexpectedly passed away due to health complications. Trevor Benoit (SLECA) has been appointed to complete Mr. Rivet’s 3-year term.
“We have a lot of new faces on our board,” commented ALEC CEO Addie Armato. “In the last three years, every member has appointed at least one new director.” Armato is excited about the fresh faces and new ideas. “We have a great group. They work well together and have a lot of mutual respect for each other.” During a recent strategic planning retreat, the ALEC board was tasked with planning for the future and determining the organization’s core functions to serve our Louisiana electric cooperatives.
Under the guidance of the ALEC board, ALEC will continue to serve its members with cutting-edge educational opportunities, a paramount safety and loss control program, award-winning magazine publications, and robust presences in the legislative and regulatory arenas.
