A History of louisiana's Rural electric cooperatives

A Dissertation by Gary Alan Donaldson

In 1983, LSU doctoral candidate Gary Donaldson completed a dissertation on the history of Louisiana's Rural Electric Cooperatives from 1937 to 1983. The document addresses the political and economic environment that existed during the 1930s when relatively few rural citizens had access to grid-based electrical power, and provides details of the origination of each one of Louisiana's distribution cooperatives and the history of the state's G&T, Cajun Electric.
